I think it goes without saying that decorating for two is much harder than decorating for one. Specially when you have two pretty gals with very unique styles! I had the pleasure of working with Dani & Mary in their gorgeous Dallas apartment over the past few weeks. The two became roommates this summer and needed a little help decorating their apartment. They had a few pieces of furniture and an idea for the look they wanted to achieve: modern,…
My obsession for blazers is very real right now and I don’t think anything is going to change that any time soon. Like, not even the summer heat. I’ve been pairing them with skirts, shorts, pants, you name it. They’re such a staple and worth every penny! Plus, you don’t have to spend a ton to get a cool blazer you can wear over and over pretty much year-round. (I’m tagging my favorites at the end of this post) Lately,…
I can’t exactly say I’m a saint when it comes to dressing up, I like to show a little skin and a little curve. For the most part, though, I like being modest. I go the extra layer to cover up my butt with a sweater for work. I use leggings when it’s cold if I’m wearing a dress, and avoid dresses altogether if they’re above my knee for work. I feel odd at the club. One time I wore…
Pink is one of my favorite colors when I need a pop. I used to be obsessed, actually. Now, it’s my go to if I need to make my outfit a little more feminine. I dress in black or neutrals for the most part, but when I’m going on a date night, I’m on the lookout for a little bit more. Lately, this pink coat has been my go to. It’s perfect for this unpredictable weather and it’s the perfect…
The other day at work I was approached by one of my students asking me to answer a few questions for his Spanish class. I thought the interview would be related to culture or language, but instead he proceeded to ask me questions about the environment and what I was doing to help it. Was I recycling? What kind of produce did I shop for? I was pleasantly surprised at how aware he was of these issues and the type…
I’m not gonna lie. I would have not bought these pants a few years ago.. I don’t even think I had anything of this color in my closet. I was afraid of the mustard. I wasn’t taking risks and honestly I was unhappy with the way I was dressing. This was when I was in college, by the way, because in high school I won “best dressed” award! Haha! Back then, I wanted to pursue a career in fashion and wear all the…
Why is it that new trends are so hard to ignore? No matter how much you fight against doing what everyone is doing, you somehow end up jumping on that bandwagon too? If you can’t beat em, join em, right? This happens to me all the time. Most recently with these belt bags/fanny packs. I hated the trend at first. Maybe because I wasn’t inspired to try it myself. BUT, and this never fails, I saw a few of my favorite bloggers…
Animal prints are in and are here to stay. Honestly, though, I feel like they’ve always had a place in my closet. I have a cheetah print oversized jacket/sweater, a few leopard & cheetah print shirts and even cheetah print pumps. I love how a good animal print piece can instantly spice up an outfit. One thing to keep in mind, however, is not going overboard with prints. It’s easy to get carried away, or to end up looking like a Jersey…
Lately I’ve been wearing a lot of neutrals.. actually who am I kidding, I always wear neutrals! With the exception of some bold pieces in my closet, everything is pretty much black, white or a neutral shade. With Fall around the corner, I know for a fact I’m going to be speaking neutrals with every outfit I put together. I love wearing black with everything and honestly there’s something devilishly pleasing about wearing white during the fall/winter. With the exception…
