We took these pictures the week before Thanksgiving and it was probably 85 degrees outside, but somehow it looked like Christmas in every corner of the street. I love how festive everyone around me has been, which makes me love the holiday even more. When I was growing up, we didn’t really have any set Christmas traditions. Sometimes we didn’t even have a tree up. Gasp, I know. It was mainly because my parents would take my brothers and I to Mexico for the entire winter break. Sometimes they would even take us out of school a few days early. I remember getting a little upset about this because it meant I never got to enjoy the Christmas parties at school. But, I’m not complaining. I have so many sweet memories from those times and I wouldn’t trade them for a corny school party.
So nowadays, I spend the holidays at home with my husband and our families. We’ve started some traditions of our own and I hope we can continue to make new ones together.
Anyway, back to this outfit… so as I was saying it was ridiculously hot outside when I wore it. I mean, how are you supposed to dress in this crazy weather?! I am d y i n g to wear cozy, warm sweaters, but I really can’t without looking like a fool. The other day I picked up these OTK boots at Target and I am obsessed! With crazy weather like this, you can easily throw on these boots with a cute skirt or dress and not worry about being too hot (or cold).
I wore these boots with thick leggings and a long blazer. I initially wanted to wear one of my husband’s cool blazers, but (lucky for him), it didn’t work out! hah! I love how simple and cute the outfit is, even on a warmer day.
I really hope the weather gets a little colder, because I think we can all agree that Winter is nonexistent here in Texas!
